Dilansir melalui MyHealthNewsDaily, Selasa (22/11/2011), berikut ini 7 jenis kanker yang dapat dicegah dengan olah raga.

1. Kanker endometrium, yaitu jaringan selaput lendir rahim yang tumbuh di luar rahim. Wanita yang berolah raga 150 menit atau lebih setiap pekannya, memiliki risiko kanker endometrium lebih rendah dibanding mereka yang tidak berolah raga.

2. Kanker usus besar. Ini adalah salah satu bentuk kanker yang paling umum terjadi. Orang yang memiliki gaya hidup sehat, termasuk berolah raga lebih dari 30 menit setiap harinya, mengurangi risiko terjadinya kanker usus besar.

3. Kanker prostat, yaitu kanker yang berkembang di prostat, sebuah kelenjar reproduksi pria. Olah raga ringan yang dilakukan secara teratur dapat membantu mencegah penyakit ini.

"Melakukannya secara intensif lebih penting dari berapa banyak hal itu dilakukan," kata Furth.

"Anda bisa berkebun dengan penuh semangat, dan bekerja keras di luar sana, misalnya mencangkul. Anda juga bisa ke luar rumah dan lari dengan pelahan sehingga denyut jantung Anda tetap normal," tambahnya.

4. Kanker payudara. Wanita dengan riwayat kanker payudara di keluarganya, memiliki risiko lebih besar untuk mengidap penyakit ini. Risiko tersebut dapat dikurangi dengan 20 menit olah raga ringan, setidaknya rutin 5 kali sepekan. Olah tubuh tersebut juga tetap harus diimbangi dengan gaya hidup sehat.

5. Kanker paru-paru. Olah raga ringan dapat mengurangi risiko kanker paru-paru bagi perokok atau mantan perokok. Pengurangan risiko ini tampak, terutama pada pria dan wanita dengan indeks massa tubuh rendah atau menengah.

6. Kanker ovarium. Meskipun masih membutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut, ada indikasi yang menunjukkan kaitan antara olah raga  dengan penurunan risiko kanker ovarium. Wanita yang intensitas aktivitasnya tinggi adalah tipe yang seringkali terhindar dari penyakit ini, bila dibandingkan dengan wanita yang tidak memiliki aktivitas fisik rutin.

7. Kanker lambung. Meskipun belum ada hasil yang konsisten dalam penelitian mengenai kaitan antara aktivitas tubuh dan kanker lambung, orang yang rutin melakukan olah raga ringan dapat mengurangi risiko kanker lambung sekira 50 persen. Orang yang rutin melakukan aktivitas fisik berat lebih dari 3 kali sepekan, juga memiliki risiko lebih rendah terkena penyakit kanker lambung. (sumber: okezone)
